Gratitude Journal no. 4

If you’re new here

I decided to challenge myself to publish my personal writing more. From pausing to deliberately reflect to getting more disciplined about creating for myself, I jumped into this goal. For a little more on this journey, check out my first public Gratitude Journal entry.

I am thankful for…

1. the science of travel. It truly is amazing to fly in a tube in the Earth’s atmosphere. We get on, and 4 hours later, we exit to a different climate, culture, and time zone. Bonus gratitude chills when I think of all the engineering required so our machines have the ability to persist through various weather events, like the snow I am very grateful to have traveled through tonight.

2. the experience of travel. A change of scenery refreshes me more than stresses me. I find comfort being in new places, appreciate the opportunity to get lost in a new environment, and look forward to making small connections with strangers.

3. all the parents in my life who, despite the fact that I’m 40, still take care of me in many ways. I appreciate their elevated roles as grandparents and am fortunate to still have them active in my life.
